A fruity aperitif with plenty of spiciness that awakens the spirits, stimulates the digestive fire and is particularly suitable for sluggish digestion, a slowed metabolism or to boost the immune system. This drink is a tasty immune booster if you have a cold on the horizon. Due to its spiciness, people with sensitive stomachs should enjoy it with caution.
FOR 4 PORTIONS:
1 piece of fresh ginger (6 cm long), grated
juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tbsp whole cane sugar
1 pinch of salt or rock salt
teaspoon nutmeg
tsp cardamom
2 ripe, sweet medium-sized oranges
Grate the ginger root very finely. Mix the lemon juice with the sugar, rock salt, nutmeg, cardamom and 4 teaspoons of ginger juice. Stir into freshly squeezed orange juice and serve as a refreshing drink in four small cocktail glasses.
