I love receiving guests at my place.
With one exception:
There's a guest who likes to sneak in, is super toxic and harms us!
I try to make this guest's stay as uncomfortable and difficult as possible. For this reason, I mainly serve food that this guest doesn't like at all.
Can you guess the name of this guest?
That's right! We're talking about AMA!
Ama is this sticky and stinky substance that can clog our body channels and is the cause of many diseases in the long term 🤢.
You can find out exactly what ama is and whether you are affected by it in my Blogbeitrag👉🏼 " Exhausted, lacking drive, ama?".
But the great thing is that we can get rid of every unloved guest!
According to this blog post:
In the following, I would like to show you how you too can set your table in such a way that Ama always feels uninvited !
Because as you surely know: our health starts in the kitchen...
I'll not only show you what you should avoid, but also what healthy and great alternatives there are.
After all, an Ayurvedic diet is not a sacrifice, but a great benefit.
So let's win the battle against Ama - ready?
If possible, fruit should be eaten with a strong agni or even on an empty stomach to ensure optimal utilization.
For example, if you eat a bread roll followed by fruit, the fruit will remain in your stomach for too long and prevent the bread roll from being properly utilized. This in turn often leads to the formation of fermentation processes, which can cause discomfort, a bloated stomach or flatulence.
✅ If possible, always eat your fruit before meals and wait 20-30 minutes for it to leave your stomach before you eat anything else.
✅ If you drink fruit juice, make sure it is freshly squeezed and not from a concentrate. When you drink the juice, hold it in your mouth for 10 seconds before swallowing so that the enzymes from the saliva can take effect.
Cold water reduces your agni (digestive fire), solidifies the oils (fats) in the meal, which slows down the digestive process and obstructs the body channels (shrotas).
It is best to drink small amounts of warm water up to 15 minutes before or after meals.
The wheat we eat today is not the same as the wheat we ate in the 1950s. The wheat that people eat today is actually a genetically modified form that was developed in the 1960s and 1970s. This "new" wheat contains a protein called gliadin, a protein component of the gluten in the grain that stimulates appetite and can cause inflammation and obesity.
In the production of white flour, the bran is removed from the wheat, it is bleached to remove the yellow color, synthetic B vitamins are added and the amount of gluten the flour can produce is increased. The synthetic vitamins added to the flour are toxic to the human body.
✅ For light-colored pastries, replace the usual white flour with grain-free organic alternatives such as almond, buckwheat or coconut flour.
✅ Replace it with natural organic plant-based alternatives such as oat milk, hemp milk, coconut milk, almond milk or raw goat's milk.
Artificial sweeteners are found in diet sodas and other diet products and are listed in many ingredient lists.
The most dangerous sugar substitutes approved for consumer use are: Saccharin, aspartame, neotame, acesulfame potassium and sucralose.
Sucralose and aspartame are the most harmful to your body. These substances are suspected of causing inflammation in the digestive tract, weakening the pancreas and triggering a constant feeling of hunger, which can lead to obesity. Research on over 100,000 test subjects in the NutriNet-Santé study proved that increased consumption of the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame can lead to an average 13 percent increased risk of cancer.
✅ Replace them with natural sweeteners such as date syrup, pear syrup, rice syrup or coconut blossom sugar.
Carbonated sodas are one of the most common sources of refined sugar in the American diet. "Energy drinks" and commercial fruit juices are no better. Avoid the following ingredients on the label: corn syrup, molasses, white sugar, dextrose, sorbitol, processed fructose and sucrose.
Eating table salt (sodium chloride) is dangerous.
It is refined and bleached and contains no essential minerals that the body needs. It also contains additives that are harmful when ingested.
✅ Replace conventional table salt with rock salt, which requires almost no chemical additives and has a high mineral content.
Soybeans contain a lot of phytic acid, which is harmful to the digestive tract and can block the absorption of nutrients and important minerals such as copper and calcium. In addition, most soy contains pesticide residues and is genetically modified.
Fermented soy products have a different nutrient profile and are much more digestible, such as miso and tempeh, and can be consumed. They have even been shown to prevent certain types of cancer and other diseases.
For the DNA technology in our industrially produced food, the genetic code is altered. Scientists use this genetic manipulation to create any trait or suppress natural traits that are not wanted. GMO foods are extremely harmful to the body and many of the effects are not yet fully proven as they have only been in use for a relatively short time.
✅ The best way to avoid GMOs is to eat only certified organic food.
The microwave destroys all the nutrients in food and drinks. Also use non-toxic cookware for preparing food.
It is an industrially produced food additive that is used to improve the taste of food. Since the introduction of glutamate, the number of diabetics has doubled and obesity rates have skyrocketed. Glutamate is said to have a neurotoxic effect that can lead to diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Unfortunately, it is hidden in many ingredients. Unfortunately, it is hidden in many ingredients, e.g. in spices, corn oil, frozen, ready-made and canned products, infant formula, food and cosmetics.
If you also try to avoid the following ingredients, Ama will not feel very comfortable with you:
